March 2017, Pastor Jose Gonzalez, also know as Pastor Joe Joe,  got launched out from Texas to Chicago (after being discipled in ministry for 12 years) to plant the Ignite discipleship Center and The Church. The Ignite Discipleship Center is a faith-based, one year, in-patient, non-profit discipleship center for Men and Women who struggle with life controlling issues such as addictions, depression, homelessness, etc. Ignite Discipleship Center is an important part of our Mission at the Church. We offer this program FREE to anyone ready to change their life.

The Grand-opening for the center was June 2018. With him and only 5 Men, the Ignite Center began to spread the word of a place of hope for the down and out around the Chicago-land area. Soon after, in 2021, Pastor Joe Joe and his wife Meagan Gonzalez opened up The Woman's discipleship center.

Pastor Joe Joe began searching for a building for the church in 2021. In 2023 God opened the door for Ignite City Church to purchase a building and open its doors to the community on 3602 Grand Blvd. East Chicago, IN. Our first service was April 9, 2023. We had 35 people attend the first service.

We believe that as long as there are empty seats in the church there are more souls to be led to Jesus. Our Vision is to have multiple campuses to expand the Vision to Know God, Find Freedom, Discover Purpose, and Make a Difference and for people to have a place to come, have an encounter with Christ and Grow with Him in a genuine and authentic way. We want to expand by getting lost people saved, saved people pastored, pastored people discipled, and discipled people mobilized so we can make an impact in The Kingdom of God and transform the world.
